the downfall of our society

i can trace the sorry state that our society is in back to the day that we gave women the right to vote. don't turn off there. finish the post.

when we gave women the right to vote two parallel series of events began.

these newly empowered women felt a right ... no ... an obligation to stop being the primary care givers at home (ie, housewives and full-time mothers) and started working outside of the home. an admirable goal if someone takes over the household responsibilities ... but no-one did. this left our children in daycare for hours a day and when they got to school age this gave our children no-one to come home to. they either came home to either an empty house or went back to daycare. with this we had stopped raising our children and relied on paid workers to provide them with their life lessons.
with this new feeling of empowerment women began exerting increased control over the raising of our children ... specifically in the discipline. this resulted in the generations of children that we have today that are uncontrolled, self-obsorbed, and have a sense of entitlement ... that they are good no matter what they do, that the world owes them, that they can do no wrong, and that they will achieve simply because of who they are. when men were responsible for discipline yeah we actually struck our children. we spanked them. but they learned. they were not coddled through their wrong-doings ... they learned from their mistakes. they were not told that it was someone else's fault. it was their responsibility.

let me respond to the knee-jerkers:

note that i did not say that giving women the right to vote was a mistake. it was not. it is simply that event to which we can trace this series of cause and effects.
i am not saying that women should not work outside of the home. i am saying that when both parents work that that leaves no-one to raise the children.
